IPICO Sports Introduces “TimeLink” – Cellular Communications Functionality for Remote Access
IPICO Sports is pleased to introduce “TimeLink”, a new product offering that provides cellular communications functionality for the IPICO Sports Elite Reader. TimeLink utilizes a combination of cellular data services and Virtual Private Networking (VPN) to provide a method for event timers to remotely access data from IPICO Sports Elite Readers in real-time from any location where cellular data access and/or Internet access is available.
With the GPRS Modem and TimeLink service, timers can receive intermediate split times from Elite Readers placed remotely throughout the course in real-time.
IPICO Sports TimeLink has been tested and successfully utilized in various types of active sports events by IPICO Sports customers during the past several months.
IPICO Sports TimeLink service requires the IPICO Sports GPRS Modem supported by a local cellular/mobile data plan (AT&T in USA) and VPN Keys obtained from the IPICO Sports website. This combination creates a Virtual Private Network “tunnel” through the Internet for secure data transfer. Once the VPN Keys have been created and installed on the IPICO Sports Elite Reader(s) and PC(s), timers do not need to change them unless adding additional Elite Reader(s) or PC(s). The functionality is available anytime by simply enabling the TimeLink service and installing the GPRS Modem in the USB Port of the Elite Reader.
Prerequisites:
- IPICO Sports Elite Reader
- IPICO Sports Delta Software Version 2.4
- IPICO Sports GPRS Modem (IP0018)
- GPRS data service plan with GSM SIM Card from local cellular/mobile carrier (AT&T, Vodaphone, etc.)
