Tokyo, Japan – Biding his time in the latter stages of the race, Kenyan Michael Kipyego took the lead for good with four kilometres to go to win the sixth edition of Tokyo Marathon on Sunday (26 February 2012). Meanwhile, Haile Gebrselassie’s hopes of Olympic selection suffered a setback after the Ethiopian finished a distant fourth.
